Who you know?

I was chatting with a friend of mine today over IM. A Swedish friend that I know from living in San Francisco. I was telling him about something work related that is happening (perhaps I'll tell more later) and how I don't really know that many people in the company Headquarters any more. As he told me, "it's not who you know ... it's who knows you." I think that's actually truer than it's origin. Like it a lot.

A new model, being interviewed in a piece to camera.

Interviewer asks. "So does your mother support your modeling?"

Tom Robbins (again)

I think that Tom Robbins is just great. I had to hold myself back from reading his books all in a row. I saved them for myself. I've allowed myself to start "Even Cowgirls get the blues". A quote from it follows.

"Plans are one thing and fate another. When they coincide, success results. Yet success mustn't be considered the absolute. It's questionable, for that matter, whether success is an adequate response to life. Success can eliminate as many options as failure."
